2; 2D and 3D Portraits

Software: Adobe Illustration CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Wacom
Tools: Wacom Tablet, Brush tool, Eyedropper tool

Firstly, roughly sketch (trace lol) the outlines of the portrait in AI. I find the brush setting there to be easier to control. Even if you're shaky, you'll still get a pretty decent line, perfect for beginners like myself.

Next, drag the outlines to Photoshop and start painting by painting on the midtown colours as a base. Use the eyedropper tool to pick colours from the original photo to your canvas. For the brushes, you can use anything that you prefer. I switched between hard brushes and soft round brushes, depending on what I felt like using. I'm honestly still learning this new art style so forgive me.

Lastly, just add the highlights and shadows until you're satisfied with the end result. It requires patience and time so put on your best playlist on replay.

2D Portrait

The difference between 2D and 3D digital portraits are the edges. In 3D portraits, the harsh lines are soften to give a more smooth transition. Now for this one, I switched to the soft edge brushes for that reason.

3D Portrait

Forgive me for the beginner noob phase. I'm still working on it 😅

An introvert who likes a lot of things such as food, models, editing, reading, kpop and the list goes on. In conclusion, I like things that are therapeutic to my eyes.
